The short version

By booking Stars Hollow House, you're agreeing to our house rules, our cancellation policy, and a few common-sense things below. We try to keep this readable — but it's still a real agreement between you and us.

Booking & agreement to house rules

When you book a stay, you agree to follow all of the house rules and policies posted at starshollowtx.com/rules. This includes check-in and check-out times, quiet hours, pet policy, smoking policy, occupancy limits, the no-parties rule, and everything else listed there. Those rules are part of these terms by reference — please give them a read before you confirm.

Who can stay & occupancy

Your booking is for the exact number of guests listed in your reservation — no more. If extra overnight guests show up without prior approval, we reserve the right to end the stay immediately without a refund. We genuinely don't enjoy doing this, so please just tell us if your plans change.

The lead guest on the booking must be at least 21 years old and stay at the property for the duration of the reservation.

Cancellation policy

We follow a moderate cancellation policy:

  • 5 or more days before check-in: full refund
  • Within 5 days of check-in: 50% refund of the nightly rate (cleaning and pet fees are non-refundable)
  • On the day of check-in or later: no refund

You can cancel and see your refund directly from your confirmation email or from our cancellation page. Refunds appear on your statement in 5–10 business days.

Payment

Payment is collected at booking through Stripe. By providing payment information you authorize us (through Stripe) to charge the full amount of your reservation. If your payment fails or is reversed, your booking is not confirmed.

Damage & guest responsibility

You're responsible for any damage to the home, furnishings, or property that goes beyond normal wear and tear during your stay — including damage caused by guests in your party or by your pets. Accidents happen, and we're reasonable people: tell us right away and we'll work through it together. If damages exceed coverage from the booking platform, we reserve the right to seek reimbursement directly.

Liability — please read

As detailed in our house rules, you stay at Stars Hollow House at your own risk. The host is not liable for personal injury, accidents, slips, falls, illness, or loss or damage to personal property that occurs on or around the property during your stay.

We love that the home is pet-friendly, but we are not responsible for the safety of your pets. The yard is fenced and reasonably secure, but we can't guarantee it is escape-proof. You're responsible for supervising your pets and for any injury or damage they cause.

By booking, you accept this full limitation of liability on behalf of yourself and everyone in your party.

Cancellation by host

In the rare case the property becomes unavailable due to circumstances beyond our control — severe weather, plumbing emergencies, or other force majeure events — we may need to cancel your reservation. If that happens, you'll receive a full refund and we'll help however we can to find alternatives.

Governing law

This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Any disputes will be handled exclusively in the courts of Smith County, Texas.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms occasionally. The version that applies to your stay is the one published on this page at the time you booked. We'll update the date at the top when changes are made.
